Hi, I’m Kate Denman. I’m an internationally-certified professional dog trainer, holding the Dog Behavior Consultant Diploma through DogNostics Career Center, Certified Training Partner with Karen Prior Academy, Professional Canine Trainer and Canine Training Technician accreditations through the US Pet Professional Accreditation Board, and the Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services from the Delta Institute. I am also a Family Dog Mediator through the L.E.G.S.® Applied Ethology Family Dog Mediation® Professional Course.
I am a trainer/assessor for Delta Institute, teaching aspiring animal trainers for Australia’s foremost training school. I am also a certified assessor for the Pet Dog Ambassador Program and the Delta Institute Canine Good Citizen Program. I’m pleased to be on the RSPCA Force-free Dog Trainers list and am accredited by the Dog and Cat Management Board to conduct greyhound muzzle exemption assessments.
I love to give back to the training community and spent more than four years as the head instructor at Canine Behavioural School, one of Adelaide’s premier dog schools which is run completely by volunteers.
As you would expect of all your animal professionals – including your vet – I am committed to continuing education. Dog training is a rapidly developing field, so I ensure that my methods are up-to-date and scientifically valid.
In addition to my study, I attend local and international conferences, training workshops and other development opportunities. I am a member of the member of the Pet Professional Guild Australia, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) Australia and the Delta Institute.
I also hold a Bachelor of Arts (Politics), a Graduate Diploma in Journalism, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a Diploma in Project Management and an Advanced Diploma in Policing in addition to first aid (human and canine!), workforce health and safety and risk management training.
I have a criminal history check, have pet and human first aid certifications and am fully insured for your peace of mind.
